Bi-Partisan Level-Headedness

There’s A) a sense of great danger and, B) no faith that the U.S. can conduct this.
— New York Times conservative columnist David Brooks (on the possibility that political strikes in Iran could lead to war)

Brooks said on "PBS News Hour" (above) that he believes Trump made a mistake, and “the idea that we may get sucked into a war in the Middle East is something that nobody wants.” He even went so far as saying that the situation favors Biden, who has foreign policy experience

Over on “Fox News Sunday,” Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen (below) seconded that sentiment, stating that the White House “had the obligation—AND the opportunity just two days ago—to provide intelligence to senior staff at the top-secret level… and they provided no evidence [that they knew] of an imminent threat"

"I think we learned the hard way in the Iraq War that administrations sometimes manipulate and cherry-pick intelligence to further their political goals,” he continued.

The rare display of bi-partisan level-headedness didn’t last long, unfortunately, as Brooks ended his argument saying, “It's not enough to say, we're going to have no war… the Democrats have to come up with some sort of defense policy.” Is he really suggesting that Trump has one?
