ACTOR EDDIE REDMAYNE TURNS 38… a surprise, I’m sure, to fans of the baby-faced star of The Other Boleyn Girl and The Theory of Everything. Why not celebrate the birthday boy by watching his latest film, The Aeronauts (now streaming on Amazon Prime). It’s the 1862 tale of a pioneering meteorologist (Redmayne) and daredevil balloon pilot (Felicity Jones) whose attempt to fly higher than anyone in history becomes a fight for survival.

IT’S NATIONAL BEAN DAY; NATIONAL CUDDLE UP DAY; AND NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY. My suggestion? If you’re cuddling up together to share in some new technology, don’t eat too many beans.

“MCCARTHY: POWER FEEDS ON FEAR” PREMIERES ON PBS (9:00PM). McCarthy chronicles the rise and fall of Wisconsin senator Joseph McCarthy, whose modern-day witch hunt—marked by groundless accusations, showmanship, and intimidation—should serve as a lesson for our time.
