POPEYE MADE HIS 1st APPEARANCE 91 YEARS AGO. The comic strip was "Thimble Theater.” And to prove the “sailor man” remains as popular as ever, Sony Pictures is releasing an animated Popeye movie in 2022, featuring the voices of Tom Kenny (Popeye), Alec Baldwin (Bluto) and Zac Efron.
