“AWKWAFINA IS NORA FROM QUEENS” PREMIERES ON COMEDY CENTRAL (10:30PM). Just 10 days after becoming the first Asian-American actress to win a Golden Globe (for Lulu Wang’s “The Farewell”), Awkwafina shares her comedic take on growing up in New York’s outer boroughs in this much-buzzed-about half-hour scripted series.

WOMEN WIN THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE 47 YEARS AGO TODAY. While the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions seemed to usher in a new age of reproductive freedom, the 1,200+ restrictive state laws put in place since make it seem for many that nothing has changed. Only a single abortion clinic remains in some states—forcing women to travel hundreds of miles to simply exercise this right.

While “Trump/No Trump” seems the ONE all-consuming decision facing voters in 2020, a likely abortion restriction measure on the ballot will also ask each of us, “What kind of America do you want to live in?”

“COLLECTING NEW YORK'S STORIES” OPENS AT THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK. The Museum remains an undiscovered treasure for many. I hope this exhibit changes that. Subtitled “Stuyvesant to Sid Vicious,” the exhibit includes highlights from the permanent collection that have been added over the last three years. With an emphasis on musicians (including John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Blondie’s Deborah Harry, and the aforementioned Sex Pistols bassist), it’s a fascinating look at our City’s unmatched and endlessly layered identity… from colonial times to today! 1220 Fifth Ave. @ 103rd St. 212.534.1672; Open daily, 10:00AM to 6:00PM.
